Regarding the recent hate comments
Lately the Social Blog has seen a lot of hate towards me, all over the removal of one blog entry that was deemed inappropriate. The entry's subject was regarding porn, which is something I do not allow conversation about here. This website is intended to be family friendly and always will be. Subjects like this are not tolerated. Because I deleted Personally Addicted's blog entry, I apparently angered some individuals; to the point where it was uncalled for. Posting the same hate comments over and over does not do anything, but embarrass yourself. If you want to express your hate for me, send me an email. I encourage any kind of feedback.
So why so much hate? I honestly don't see the reasoning behind it. I did the right thing by removing one inappropriate blog entry. Is that such a bad thing? Last time I checked, it's not. Personally Addicted continues to post here and I support him for that, as I also expect support in return. This website is not free. I pay a monthly bill, as well as manage it on a daily basis. This is the thanks I get?
By no means am I targeting everyone with this entry. It's only a select few who decided to be disrespectful and express their anger. The Social Blog currently holds over 200 writers. Many of these writers work hard to deliver content for all to enjoy. I expect everyone to support them for that. If you don't like thecreativeone.tv, then simply don't visit. No one is forcing you to visit my site. If you want to read content that's not welcome here, then go ahead and start your own form of a social blog. Really, do something with yourself rather than waste time with hate comments. Doing things like that are going to get you nowhere in life.
Also I should mention that all hate comments that come in from now on, you will be tracked via your IP address and permanently banned. I'm too busy to put up with this, so I am not going to tolerate it anymore. I've already said more than I planned, so thank you for reading and enjoy the site.

I didn't get to see the hate comments, but it sounds like these people need to grow up and learn a thing or 2 about self-respect and respect towards others.
Good call on removing the entry, don't listen to the 'haters'.
Well said David
Well put!
Very well said david. Come on people, he pays a fee to keep this site going. It dosnt matter how much it costs. Its that hes putting his time and money into this site. Why hate? It just makes you look stupid and inmature.
Well put David, some people out there really have no lifes at all!
David, I can't think why the hate aswel. Just some people with nothing else to do with their time. You are doing the right thing with tracing IP's and just banning them. Far easier and keeps the website neater and under control. As I said, Don't listen to them. They are the low life.
Amen to that! Keep things a-rockin' David!
well said or written david. Keep up the good work with the site and as for those haters whateva
Very well put Dave. You shouldn't need to write this. People should just grow up.
well put.
Is there anyway for you to unblock me?
Im sorry to say it david but i know this site isn't free, but you pay for it? i would say your sponsors do the paying. You should be thanking the blogers, without them this site wouldn't want to be sponsored. Maintained on a daily basis? im sorry but you barely blog, nonetheless stream at all. im sorry to say it david but no.... Ban me if you will but you know i speak the truth...
Mji92, please don't assume things. I do manage this blog on a daily basis; more than you probably realize. I may not post here, but that doesn't mean that I do not manage things and fix problems. I'm not trying to sound negative, but why even post a comment like that? Yes, my sponsors help pay for the site, and for that I am very grateful. And I do thank the bloggers, all the time. Not once did I state the opposite. Again, please don't make assumptions.
Also I barely stream because I am usually busy with other things. I do graphic design work on a daily basis, among other tasks. What's with people lately? There's so much negativity.
David, that was well written and well said. HatIng does definatly need to stop(especialy mji92). From what I can tell you put in a lot of effort into this site and deserve a large thank you, because Without out you there would be no social blog, no fourm bytes, heck, there would not even be a thecreativeone.tv. So thank you a lot, and congrars on almost making it to 20,000 subscribers on YouTube.
Sincerly,
Ethan
The internet is full of trolls. Your time and attention is way more important.
There is nothing wrong with pornography. It is just another category of video, just like your videos on video games and Macs.
Lol, jk.
I wasn't going to make a public comment on this posting, but reading through some of the comments is almost infuriating. Let me say that loud and clear, in this post and speaking for no one but myself.
Here is the bottom line, I believe the only reason David made his blog a social blog was to give his "following" if you will, a chance to interact with a group of like-minded people in a centralized, safe environment. We all must remember that at the end of the day this is David's website. And although he chose to allow users the ability to post, he has ultimate control of his website and its content.
Addressing David's proposed inactivity; running a website that gets 1500 -- 2000 hits a day is not an easy task. I'm sure there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes making sure that everything runs smoothly for his users. Not to mention, monitoring for quality control which is something I feel he should not have to do. If an individual is going to post on this site, I feel it is their responsibility to ask themselves if what they are posting is appropriate quality content.
And most importantly, we all must remember that David does not exist in the world as thecreativeone. he is his own person, with his own life... and real-life issues that he must deal with. And, while I think David's very grateful for his online presence and support, we must remember that he does not put our content for himself. the only reason anyone without content is for the enjoyment and/or education of others. David is not obligated to maintain any of this, but he does... not for his own well-being, but as a favor to us.
Please keep that in mind.
You continue to amaze me with how well you handle situations like this. I think we could all learn a thing or two by listening to David.
Wow David, Im glad you put up a post to clarify everything. You don't deserve any hate for taking down an innapropriate post. When I first read it, I made a comment calling Personally Addicted a Perv with no life, which is probably true if that was a big deal to him.
I would like to thank you for making this site in the first place, and I love being a part of it. You should have the right to take down a post and not be judged for it in a negative way. I also think its a great idea that your tracking down IP adresses now, its the smart thing to do and I hope the site will start seeing a few less haters and more people with normal mentality. Thankyou again, and I hope to continue to make posts and not have to deal with anymore immature people.
You have my support David!
This is a great website for all ages.
Mji92, you said David needs to be thanking his writers for getting people to want to sponsor his site. I'm a writer on the Social Blog, and you probably don't read the emails he sends to the all his writers. Here's what he told us via email:
"Firstly I want to say thank you so much for your contribution to the Social Blog. The website's traffic has been increasing each month, which means your content is being seen by more users than ever. Keep up the great work! I really appreciate all the time you've put into providing content for others to enjoy."
With all that aside, David, I will continue to be a writer and support this site. I can tell you put a lot of work to this site so you don't deserve all these hate comments.
You made the right decision removing the post. If I were to run thecreativeone.tv, I wouldn't want pornography on it. As for the haters, screw them. They don't have the balls to respect you, the writers, or your sponsors. Forget about them.
I agree with you David !!! and one thing Dave,,,don't listen the haters,,we love what you are doing with your websites! you had really did a good job !!!
In the name of all your viewers: THANK YOU !!!
I too am a writer for this site and I do support David's choices and decisions in regards to the running of it. However, I am finding it hard to understand what part of the pornography post was offensive and unsuitable. Of course, showing such content would be absolutely outrageous, but he did not. He was merely speculating on a topic that most people on this site are familiar with. Pornography exists. Fact. By no means am I assuming the people of this community partake in the viewing or creation of such a thing, but we all know about it, or if we don't, we should as it is not going anywhere. Responsible people should always have a choice to enjoy such a thing, so of course it should not be displayed on a geek forum against anyone's will. But it wasn't. He just talked about it. Similar articles have been published in The Times newspaper, and it has been covered on major news networks and prime time TV in the past before the watershed.
As such, I feel that shielding us from a speculative post on the future of a lucrative online culture seems rather, well, odd, especially as the item in question has been the biggest player in cyberspace since the dawn of the information super highway and, for that matter, the invention of the means to capture moving image. Are we not a technology community thriving on a system where pornography plays a major role? I can tell you, we are. Shall we just pretend it doesn't exist and never say it's name, shall we forbid it?
It all boils down to the western world's facade fear of sex and death, despite the fact the former is used to manipulate us all the time, in advertising and the choices we make, and the latter pretty much defines the purpose of human existence. Although this may seem like I am digressing, it is actually loosely relevant. The supreme court published an official definition for pornography some years ago, it said "The representation in books, magazines, photographs, films, and other media of scenes of sexual behavior that are erotic or lewd and are designed to arouse sexual interest.". Isn't that any new car add that depicts a blonde woman on the hood, or knocking back a cold one for the advertising campaign of Budwieser? I am saying sex is everywhere, in many forms, one of which is pornography. Depicting it on a family forum is wrong, but shielding us from speculation is perhaps taking westernized nanny culture too far, is it not?
That being said; David has the choice to do as he wishes with his website, and I will support him in that every step of the way and I am in awe in regards to the way he handles these situations. I am a strong believer in freedom of speech and friendly discussion or debate, so please don't take this as a personal attack on anyone or anything.
Just my two cents.
Adam
Nice post! - Sometimes hate goes way to far. Also, keeping this website family friendly and dealing with haters must take up a large amount of time and effort, and I for one applaud you for that.
Chris,
